Healing in India

snake-bite-story

Thirty-two-year-old Chameli Devi of the Kheri District, Rampur village is a believer in Jesus Christ and shares her testimony of God’s healing. She is married to Ramu and they have two sons. Her in-laws also received the Lord five years ago and are faithfully attending church.

While Chameli was out collecting firewood, a venomous snake bit her on her leg. Hit by fear and pain, she screamed aloud and alerted the neighbours. Everyone gathered around her, and, as is the custom in the Hindu religion, the people believed that she was bitten for spiritual reasons. They urged the family to take her to a witch doctor or temple immediately. Praise God for the faith and courage of her family who began to pray to the One True God instead. They phoned the village pastor, Pastor Robert William, who prayed for her over the telephone, while other believers around her agreed in prayer. It was only a matter of hours before she was back to herself, free from all pain and symptoms of poisoning, and joyfully celebrating. She cannot stop praising the Lord for what he has done.

“I remember that moment very vividly. I thought I was going to die, but Jesus gave me new life to live for Him and tell of His wonders and power to those who do not know Him.” – Chameli Devi.
