Ushering In A New Season of Transformation
The Cambodia Church Planting Center is on the brink of ushering in a new season of transformation and unity among church planters. Here we share a testimony from Sem Kosal, an aspiring church planter in Cambodia.
“My name is Sem Kosal. I am the youngest of three brothers. I am so blessed to grow up in a Christian family; my parents are active members of my home church. Both my brothers have finished studying at Phnom Penh Bible School, one of them is a pastor in a church in Siem Reap. Since I was 15, I knew that God called me to plant a big church and be a pastor. However, my parents (even though they are good Christians) didn’t like the idea of my calling. I wanted to go to bible school just like my brothers and be a pastor but my parents didn’t support me. They insisted that I choose another major.
Even though I did not go to bible school, my desire to plant a church didn’t go away. It kept burning for years. I still have a passion to serve God and lead people to Christ. I believed that in the past years, God has prepared me for the great ministry ahead. And I believe that 2017 is the time for me to follow God’s calling for my life.
I saw a poster about the Sovannaphum Church Planting Conference at work and I decided to attend. I was blessed by this conference; it was great and inspiring. I loved it very much. I heard many inspiring messages about church planting. I also loved hearing the testimonies about other church planters of how God called them and led them to plant churches in Cambodia. I was touched by a sermon from Pastor Jesse of the New Life Fellowship. He said church planting is excellent work and that this should be my priority. Moreover, I have been given a lot of resources to help me to plant and grow my church. I am so thankful for this conference. I am looking forward to the next one later this year.
I have also signed up to the Church Planting Bootcamp and I am looking forward to this intensive training.”
